Newcastle Eagles soar with partnership three-pointer
A basketball team has an extra spring in its step after securing a partnership treble.
Newcastle Eagles women’s side has strengthened its alliance with train operator Lumo and joined forces with Stockton's Perco Foods.
Newcastle-based Lumo – which operates services between Edinburgh and London on the East Coast Main Line – is adorning the back of the team’s jerseys, with Perco Foods’ name on the back of players’ shorts.
Lumo’s deal marks its first sponsorship of a women’s team, with Perco Foods’ logo also emblazoned on the back of the Eagles men’s team’s shorts.
Meanwhile, advisory firm Ryecroft Glenton has returned for another year as a corporate sponsor.
Martijn Gilbert, Lumo managing director, said: “We’re proud to play an active part in supporting many groups and organisations contributing to the region’s success story.
“And we’re especially excited to be launching our partnership with Newcastle Eagles women.”
Daniel Baike-Ghazvini, Perco Foods director, added: “The Eagles have forged strong links with local communities and also promote big initiatives to drive health and wellbeing — especially with children — through basketball across the North East.
“That makes it an attractive club to support, and we’re looking forward to developing our relationship during the current season and, hopefully, beyond.”
