Geoffrey Robinson expands with Yorkshire move
A family-owned mechanical, electrical and construction contractor has expanded into Yorkshire.
Geoffrey Robinson has opened a Leeds base.
Bosses at the Billingham-headquartered firm say the move will allow it to “continue delivering the reliable services that have defined its reputation for over 50 years”.
The firm, which already runs additional offices in Tyneside and Greater Manchester employs more than 300 staff working on mechanical, electrical, ventilation, construction, fire engineering and fabrication projects.
The second-generation business oversees a number of sectors, with recent schemes including work on a £7.5 million modular urgent treatment centre at Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital, a £4 million decarbonisation project at Harrogate District Hospital and a £5 million mechanical package at HMP Millsike, in York.
Future projects include a £1 million-plus heating network replacement programme at Newcastle University and two large frameworks for a North East trust worth in excess of £50 million.
Andy Talbot, executive director, said: “The addition of the Leeds office is a move to bridge the gap between the North East and North West.
“We’re a people business, so it’s exciting to be growing the team and creating more opportunities for work in this region.
“We look forward to seeing the impact this new team will have on our business."
