Teesside International Airport makes flyer pledge
Airport bosses say they’re “not resting on their laurels” to improve passenger access despite a glowing watchdog report.
Teesside International Airport has received a ‘very good’ rating from the Civil Aviation Authority.
And officials have vowed to build on the accolade and make the site, based near Darlington, “the UK’s most accessible to all passengers and users”.
The Civil Aviation Authority gives a ‘very good’ rating when 99 per cent of all departing notified disabled passengers, and those with reduced mobility, are provided with assistance within 30 minutes of making themselves known at a designated point.
Steve Land, general manager at the airport, which is a member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme that helps people share a non-immediately apparent disability or condition, added: “It’s very pleasing to achieve this rating.
“It is testament to the commitment of all members of our teams.
“But we’re not resting on our laurels, and will keep listening and striving to improve wherever we can.”
