Economic insight event with Roger Martin-Fagg
What is the UK’s fiscal policy?
How will the result of the US presidential election and wider geopolitical events impact the global economy?
Is my business prepared for the next major economic shift?
The world is a constantly changing place, not least the financial environment, where market spikes and shifts deliver no little uncertainty.
To help ease the confusion and provide answers to questions – including those above – renowned behavioural economist Roger Martin-Fagg is bringing his comprehensive insight to the North East on Thursday, October 31.
Hosted by multi-platform publisher NET alongside Andrew Marsh, Vistage chair for the North East and Northumberland, the special event will be the region’s main economic debate of 2024.
Using 50 years of economic forecasting knowledge and experience, all delivered with trademark straight talking, Roger will cut through the jargon to reveal what the numbers, market shifts, trends, indicators and policy announcements really mean.
And with the new Government set to implement fresh financial legislation in its first autumn statement, and the US presidential race and international geopolitical events primed to further impact economic outlooks, the event is a must for companies as they head into 2025.
Combining financial and policy insight with management strategy, Roger will outline the measures businesses must consider – and how their blueprints should evolve – to grow over the coming months.
As well as hearing Roger’s insights, attendees will also be able to ask questions, not least about the likely effects of Labour’s mini budget, which will take place the day before the event.
The talk, which will include breakfast and networking opportunities, is ideal for leaders and senior business people keen to catalyse their organisations’ growth.
The event – sponsored by Newcastle-based wealth management firm Raymond James, Monument and Cascade Cash Management – will be covered by NET’s editorial team, with a detailed report published across the multi-platform media company’s digital channels that will be supported by social media posts from its NET and Bdaily accounts.
Andrew said: “The North East has a thriving and innovative business community, populated by leaders keen to stay ahead of the curve.
“My Vistage members regularly enjoy high-quality speakers, like Roger Martin-Fagg, talking about hot topics.
“It is a pleasure to join with NET to bring the experience to a wider invite list.”
John Duns, NET business development director, said: “We are delighted to be co-hosting Roger for what will be a fascinating event.
“The economic world is forever shifting, which makes Roger’s insights all the more invaluable.”
Gary Fawcett, Raymond James, Monument branch principal, said: “The timing of Roger’s talk couldn’t be better, and we are delighted to support this event.
“There will be lots of news and events to digest over the coming months, and individuals and businesses will need to be ready.
“I’m sure Roger will give a fascinating insight on the current global economic situation and what upcoming events may mean for businesses and investors.
“As an investment manager, we have had to navigate many challenges over the years for clients, but there are always opportunities on which to seize and I’m sure there will be many more to come.”
Dr Emma Black, Cascade Cash Management chief executive and co-founder, added: “We are so pleased to be able to support this event, particularly at a time with so much taking place.
“With political change in the UK and abroad, now feels a good time to fully consider how that may evolve.
“Roger is a great speaker; he’s able to simplify the complex and translate it into practical ideas and considerations.
“With interest rates starting to settle back toward long-term norms, it will be a great opportunity for us to think about how that pathway may evolve.”
The event will take place on Thursday, October 31 at PROTO, in Gateshead, between 8.30am and noon.
