'Unique offer' as Teesside market expands footprint
A town centre shopping arcade is expanding.
Bosses behind Middlesbrough’s Dundas Indoor Market have taken 2500sq ft to create seven new units.
They say the move will deliver “independent traders offering affordable products customers can’t find anywhere else.”
The units will fill space left behind by Fulton’s Foods’ closure in 2021, and comes after a former Boyes store was turned into a YMCA outlet, a bakery opened and a café expanded.
One of the new spaces will be occupied by soccer memorabilia business ASB Football Shirts, which moved into the market earlier this year.
PM Toys and Collectables is also moving to a larger unit.
David Harris, market manager, said: “This is great news for Middlesbrough’s shoppers who, over the past few years, have seen some of their favourite retailers disappear from the town centre.
“We are looking to grow the range of goods and services we provide, and would be particularly keen to welcome a fruit and veg business, a florist, a men’s barber and a mobile phone retailer.”
