Family-owned vet group expands to Middleton
A Yorkshire-based independent veterinary group has opened its seventh practice, becoming the only independent provider in the Middleton area of Leeds.
Harrison Family Vets has invested £350,000 in the new St Georges Retail Park facility, which includes advanced pet care features like Casco kennels with built-in heat pads, mood lighting, and pheromone systems to create a calming environment for pets.
And bosses are saying the new practice will also create six jobs at least, while offering “far better value” than corporately owned veterinary clinics and being “designed around the pets we treat”.
Kristie Faulkner, operations director for Harrison Family Vets, said: “Until now the only veterinary practices in the Middleton area were owned by the large corporate chains.
“As a result, more than 200 local pet owners registered with us before we even opened, which demonstrates the level of demand for independent veterinary practices that can offer far better value than corporately owned clinics.
“Our total wellness plan is one of the best value offerings on the market, and provides preventative products and services to keep dogs, cats and rabbits healthy, in addition to unlimited free vet consultations and discounts on neutering, dental treatments and even premium pet food, for a low monthly price.”
Designed with pet comfort in mind, the practice features five consulting rooms, a digital X-ray suite, a dental suite, and an innovative waiting area with pods that shield pets from the stress of traditional waiting rooms.
Founded in 2021, Harrison Family Vets operates locations across the UK, with plans for further expansion. Currently, they offer a £15 vaccination promotion in Middleton, which includes a full health check and a six-month follow-up.
