Garforth site manager wins top building award
A Garforth-based site manager has been awarded a prestigious industry accolade for excellence in house building, highlighting his commitment to quality and ‘dedication, passion and leadership’.
Nathan Lunn of Vistry East Yorkshire received the ‘Seal of Excellence’ in the National House Building Council's (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards 2024 for his work at Greenwell Park in Garforth.
Recognised as a top performer in the North East region, Nathan had already secured a ‘Quality Award’ in the initial round this summer.
Nathan said: “I’m delighted to have been recognised again for my work at Greenwell Park.
“Winning a Quality Award was a fantastic achievement, and to go one step further and achieve the Seal of Excellence is a career highlight for me.
“It is also an absolute pleasure to have a site team that consistently works hard to build and shape a wonderful development that our customers can be proud to call home. This award is for the entire team.”
Speaking on Nathan’s success, Rob Spittles, managing director at Vistry East Yorkshire, added: “I am incredibly proud of Nathan and his continued success this year; achieving a Quality Award and Seal of Excellence speaks volumes about his work and he thoroughly deserves this recognition.”
Now in its 44th year and widely considered the ‘Oscars’ of the house building industry, the Pride in the Job Awards is considered the premier benchmark for site management excellence, with winners judged rigorously across leadership, technical skill and attention to detail.
Nathan and other regional winners will now progress to the Pride in the Job ‘Supreme Awards’, held in January 2025 in London, aiming to celebrate the highest standards in UK housebuilding.
Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC, added: “Vistry East Yorkshire’s winning site manager, Nathan Lunn, demonstrated his dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards.
“While house building is a team effort, we believe the greatest influence on the quality of a finished home is the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their team.”
