Keepmoat takes home national homebuilding award
A leading UK homebuilder has earned a prestigious award for its innovative approach to housing development at a major national construction awards event.
Keepmoat, which currently has 80 live developments, was awarded ‘Project of the Year (£25 million+)’ at the National Construction and Building Awards for The Orchards development in Soothill, Batley.
This £52 million project will convert 30 acres of disused land into 319 mixed-tenure homes, with sustainability at its core. The development employs modern methods of construction, using timber frames and off-site prefabrication to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Chris Clingo, regional managing director at Keepmoat Yorkshire West, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the Yorkshire West team and our fantastic award win.
“It’s inspiring to see our efforts in regeneration, placemaking and building homes of the future at The Orchards development in Batley recognised by such a prestigious awards programme.
“Our commitment to continuing to deliver future-proof homes at the site, in collaboration with our partners, is ongoing with work on phase two of the development already well underway, as we look to further improve the local area and develop thriving communities.”
Keepmoat’s commitment to nurturing talent was also recognised, with apprentice bricklayer Callum McNaughton shortlisted for ‘Apprentice of the Year’. Callum, a local apprentice from Batley, combines practical training at The Orchards with formal learning at the NHBC’s Training Hub.
