Lloyd Motor Group expands North East portfolio
Family-owned Lloyd Motor Group, one of the UK’s leading independent automotive groups, has “consolidated its position” in the North East through a new acquisition, bringing additional services and creating 18 new jobs.
The group’s acquisition of Stratstone Tyneside BMW & MINI at Silverlink Park, now operating as Lloyd North Tyneside BMW & MINI, expands its regional footprint with roles in sales, aftersales and operations being created, including a head of business position.
Sam Lloyd. Lloyd Motor Group’s managing director, said: “We are thrilled to add such an exciting location to our portfolio and further consolidate our position in the North East and the surrounding area.
“We are delighted to take over the business from Stratstone. We hope to continue their good work and can assure existing customers that they will be well looked after by our team.”
This latest addition comes on the back of the launch of Lloyd Select Newcastle, the company's newly opened flagship used car operation on Scotswood Road, Newcastle, effectively doubling Lloyd’s presence in the region in the past year.
These new sites join the established Lloyd Newcastle BMW & MINI and Lloyd Newcastle Bodyshop, based at Fenham Barracks.
Gary Bingley, BMW franchise director for Lloyd Motor Group, added: “We can’t wait to get into our new location and show customers, old and new, what Lloyd Motor Group is all about.
“Thanks to our existing BMW, MINI, Bodyshop and Select operations, we already have a strong relationship with the people of the North East, and we very much see this as an opportunity to further root ourselves into the area.
“We have ambitious growth plans and are thrilled to be creating new jobs and providing opportunities in the region”.
