dwmedia appoints new co-director
Northumberland-based video production company dwmedia has appointed Mark Orr as co-director, joining founder Daniel Wilkinson to drive the company’s growth in event and festival production.
With a strong background in broadcast TV and video editing, Mark, formerly of MC Media, brings decades of industry experience to dwmedia.
Daniel said: “I started filming local events and found myself really enjoying the process.
“Gradually, I built a paying client base, and now we’re working on festivals featuring some major names. It’s been an incredible journey.
Mark added: “I was overwhelmed with editing requests and realised it was time to focus on that side of the business, with the training element being sidelined.
“Eventually, Daniel and I decided to make our collaboration official, and I became a co-director of dwmedia.”
Originally a passion project during Daniel’s school years, dwmedia has developed into a full-service production company, known for live-streaming funerals and supporting events across Northumberland and Tyneside.
The team recently invested in a custom mobile studio, enabling seamless on-site production for major events.
Mark added: “Working at events in scorching heat or cold made us realise we needed a controlled environment.
“The vehicle, which we’ve adapted, already came with air conditioning and heating and the specialised equipment we’ve added has been a game-changer.”
With Mark’s expertise, dwmedia aims to expand its client base, delivering high-quality video solutions for festivals and corporate clients throughout the UK, with Daniel predicting an exciting period for the company.
“We provide everything from cameras with crew to production equipment and have recently worked on events featuring Chase and Status, Yungblud, McFly, and The Jacksons.
“We’re gearing up for more exciting events in the coming months.
“The past year has been a whirlwind, and Mark’s expertise has been pivotal. Thanks to our team’s dedication and our shared vision, we’re achieving things I never thought possible.”
