Burnley Banksy returns to Leeds' Merrion Centre
Following the success of last year’s pop-up art studio, Leeds-based artist Andy McVeigh, known as the Burnley Banksy, is back at the Merrion Centre with another pop-up store in time for the festive season.
Located in a larger space near the Woodhouse Lane entrance, the store will showcase Andy’s vibrant murals and exclusive artwork, including tributes to Leeds culture and some of the most famous Leeds United players, both past and present.
He said: "It’s fantastic to be back for another year. The new location offers an exciting opportunity for visitors to see my work up close and personal, while the workshops are a great way for families to get creative together.
“I can’t wait to meet more people, share my art, and hopefully inspire the next generation of Leeds artists!"
In addition to prints and hand-painted canvases, visitors can look forward to interactive workshops for families and children, allowing participants to create their own Burley Banksy-inspired pieces.
Katrina Townsend, area operations manager for Town Centre Securities PLC, owners of the Merrion Centre, added: "We are thrilled to welcome Burley Banksy back to the Merrion Centre.
“His work has become synonymous with Leeds, and this new location will bring a fresh, dynamic energy to the Centre.
“It’s another fantastic way for us to continue supporting local talent and engage our visitors with art that reflects our city’s unique culture."
Open from 13 November through to Christmas Eve, the pop-up offers unique seasonal gifts and an immersive art experience. For more information, visit merrioncentre.co.uk.
