Construction firm marks education work milestone
A regional construction firm has achieved significant progress in the education and care sector, completing over £4 million in refurbishment projects during the summer holidays.
Award-winning Hobson & Porter, based in Hull, has delivered a range of projects, including Special Educational Needs (SEN) facilities, renovations and expansions across schools and care homes for local councils.
Projects included a new SEN suite at Clifton Green and extensive classroom refurbishments at Applefields School, both for City of York Council, as well as a conversion for a children’s care home for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
Additional works were completed for Hull City Council, while a large-scale refurbishment was finalised at Grimsby Institute.
The firm has also recently completed the £7 million ‘state-of-the-art’ Oakbridge Church of England Primary School in Northallerton, while embarking on two new primary school builds in North East Lincolnshire, which are set to open in 2025
Sam Robertson, minor works estimating manager at Hobson & Porter, said: “Our dedicated team always steps it up a gear over the summer holidays to complete a huge portfolio of rapid-delivery, complex refurbishment projects in education assets across the region.
“This summer was no different, and the client feedback from the numerous councils we work for has been very positive, which is reflected in the amount of work the team now has in the pipeline.”
