Zephyr X begins work on ‘state-of-the-art’ care home

A newly acquired site in Hampshire will soon become a ‘state-of-the-art senior living community’, bringing much-needed care facilities to Bishop’s Waltham.

London-based property developer Zephyr X has completed the site purchase and started groundwork on a 66-bedroom care home featuring ensuite rooms, communal lounges, dining areas, and secure gardens designed to promote comfort, privacy and a ‘vibrant and inclusive community”. The project will also cater for independent and assisted-living needs.

The area has faced a significant undersupply of care home spaces, with no new homes built in over 20 years.

Including 19 two, three, and four-bedroom houses in partnership with award-winning homebuilder Beechcroft Developments, Zephyr X’s new development is the only care scheme in the area that has been granted planning approval or is currently in planning.

Adam Faulkner, founder of Zephyr X, said: “Zephyr X’s vision is to create a nurturing space where residents can truly feel at home.

“This new care home reflects our commitment to elevating senior care standards and creating an environment that combines first-rate facilities with the warmth of a community.”

The care home will be operated by Bracebridge Care Group as part of its expanding portfolio, supporting the local economy through job creation.

Samantha Crawley, CEO of Bracebridge, added: “This project is both timely and essential. With a significant undersupply of market-standard beds in the area, Zephyr X’s development fills a critical gap.

“The facility, combined with Beechcroft’s senior housing, will create a well-rounded community offering vital resources to Hampshire’s senior residents.”

Sarah Skuse and the team at Bevan Brittan LLP advised Zephyr X on the acquisition.
