TICA celebrates apprentices at ceremony
The Thermal Insulation Contractors Association's (TICA), the sole UK trade association representing contractors involved in the application of hot and cold thermal insulation, has recognised dedication and technical excellence at its annual Apprentice of the Year Awards.
Joseph Munday from Crawley Insulations in Kent won the Level 2 award, while Sam Morris of Altrad in Heysham claimed the Level 3 award, with the winners revealed at the trade association’s 67th annual lunch, held at London’s OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie.
Both apprentices honed their skills through TICA’s National Training Centre in Darlington, where they completed intensive training blocks and on-the-job learning with their employers.
The awards highlight TICA’s commitment to developing talent in the thermal insulation sector. Level 2 apprenticeships provide essential skills for the trade, while Level 3 programmes offer advanced qualifications for experienced professionals or those progressing from Level 2.
Marion Marsland, chief executive officer of TICA, said: "These awards are a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on the outstanding talent within our industry.
“Our apprentices have shown remarkable dedication, resilience, and passion, and they represent the future of thermal insulation.
“Their achievements will not only benefit their careers but will also help drive the industry forward with innovation and excellence.”
