New technical director at Gradon Architecture

Award-winning architectural practice Gradon Architecture has appointed Graeme Kirkley as technical director, marking his return to the company after four years.

With decades of experience, Graeme brings extensive expertise in construction design and contractor collaboration, supporting Gradon’s growth and the development of its team.

Based in the North East and established 15 years ago by husband-and-wife team Graham and Donna McDarby, Gradon is an award-winning practice of architects that has worked on a variety of projects from student residential to strategic master-planning developments throughout the UK and across the globe, including Mongolia, Jordan and Turkmenistan.

Graeme’s appointment reinforces the firm’s commitment to innovation and excellence in architecture.

He said: “I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to rejoin the team at Gradon and work on an exciting variety of projects at the delivery stage both in the UK and overseas.

“Architectural design has always been a big passion of mine – I even loved drawing at school – and I enjoy working out how all of the elements of each scheme fit together.

“It’s rewarding to see the final result of each project and I firmly believe that architecture plays a key role in shaping the quality of people’s lives.”

Graham added: “We’re really excited at the prospect of having Graeme back on board.

“He started his career in the industry at the tender age of 16, and his wealth of experience will be invaluable as we look to grow the business and develop our exciting young talent.”
