Moralbox 'in growth mindset' after move
A staff training software company is “looking to move to the next stage” following an office switch.
Moralbox has expanded into Houghton-le-Spring’s Evolve Business Centre.
Bosses say the base provides firm foundations to grow the business’ digital platform – which helps operators identify skill gaps and meet compliance demands – and attract international investment.
The switch builds on a strong 12-month period for the company, wherein it doubled turnover, secured accelerator funding and travelled to San Francisco to promote its product across the Atlantic.
Co-founder Gordon MacPherson said the firm, which is working with the DVLA to support driving licence checks, is in a “growth mindset”.
He said: “We’ve developed our product with a small number of clients to make sure we have it right – and we feel like we have now.
“We’ve doubled revenue in the last 12 months, so everything is pointing in the right direction.
“We’ll continue to innovate and develop our product, and are going to have our first artificial intelligence-based feature in the next software update.”
John Dunnill, fellow Moralbox co-founder, added: “The environment here is lovely, and there are a lot of good businesses, including other software companies that have had success and have a similar mindset to us.”
Evolve Business Centre is owned and managed by Sunderland City Council.
Councillor Kevin Johnston, the authority’s cabinet member for housing, regeneration and business, said: “Moralbox is a modern, innovative company, and I’m sure it will fit in well at Evolve.
“Sunderland is a great place to do business, and the fact Moralbox has chosen the city as the place to grow from is testament to that.”
