Castle supports £53 million school delivery
A major contract has been awarded for the provision of cutting-edge services at a new state-of-the-art school in Scotland.
Castle, a South Tyneside-based specialist in mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) services, has been appointed by Morgan Sindall Construction to deliver comprehensive systems for the £53 million Dumfries High School project.
The new school, funded through the Learning Estate Investment Programme and delivered by hub South West Scotland in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council, will cater to 930 pupils and feature facilities such as an athletics centre, all-weather sports pitch, amphitheatre, and science garden.
Castle’s work includes designing and installing advanced mechanical and electrical systems, renewable technologies such as 30kwp photovoltaics and air source heat pumps, as well as incorporating energy-efficient features such as underfloor heating, EV charging points and building management systems.
With offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Castle is strengthening its foothold in the Scottish education sector.
Andrew Dawson, managing director at Castle, said: “We have built a very strong reputation for our expertise as a leading provider of MEP services, as we continue to work across a high volume of prestigious educational projects in Scotland.
“It is for this reason we were appointed by Morgan Sindall Construction and we look forward to playing our role in delivering this fantastic educational facility for local school children in Dumfries.”
