Northumbrian Water upgrades testing tech
A water provider has upgraded its water testing systems to improve quality assurance and operational efficiency across its extensive network.
Northumbrian Water (NWL) has adopted Palintest’s “second to none” Lumiso range of testing solutions, including 30 Lumiso Expert units, 41 Lumiso Chlorine devices and 40 Turbidity Meters, to monitor water quality for 2.7 million residents from Teesside to Berwick upon Tweed.
These state-of-the-art tools enhance NWL’s ability to meet UK water safety standards, reducing technical escalations by 70 per cent and helping to streamline compliance processes.
The Lumiso range ensures accurate testing of parameters such as chlorine, ammonia and turbidity, with both benchtop and portable devices for flexibility. NWL’s commitment to precision testing supports its goal of maintaining public trust while addressing challenges with outdated instruments.
Michael James, instrument technician at NWL, said: “The benchtop and portable instruments are key components to verify our treatment processes, so accuracy and reliability are crucial.
“Our operators and technicians have observed first-hand the precision, durability, and reliability that Palintest instruments bring to the table. These instruments are second to none in terms of their performance and have given us confidence in results to verify water quality.”
Palintest, a Gateshead-based global leader in water testing technology, delivers innovative solutions backed by responsive customer service, aligning perfectly with NWL’s mission to safeguard water quality and “deliver uninterrupted exemplary service”.
Shaurya Sheoran, head of product management at Palintest, added: “Our partnership with Northumbrian Water reflects a mutual commitment to precision and reliability.
“By standardising testing across all water treatment sites with the Lumiso range, NWL can ensure their treatment processes are robust and their team has confidence in the results to demonstrate compliance.”
