Consultancy firm expands operations with new headquarters

A specialist training and consultancy firm is driving its ambitious growth plans with a move to a larger headquarters in North Shields.

Carney Consultancy has relocated to The Barracks Building at The Fish Quay, marking a “significant milestone” in its five-year strategy to expand operations across the North of England.

The new headquarters includes enhanced training facilities, enabling Carney to offer more courses in areas such as sustainability, environmental awareness and fire safety.

The move follows a period of rapid growth, with the company nearing 200 clients and boasting a 64 per cent increase in turnover and a 22 per cent rise in retained clients over the past two years.

Angela Carney, managing director of Carney Consultancy, said: “This move represents a significant milestone for the business.

“We have experienced tremendous growth in recent years and our new headquarters provides us with the space and resources we need to continue on this trajectory.

“We are excited about the opportunities this move presents, particularly in terms of expanding our training programmes and attracting new talent to the business.

“This move and expansion is only possible thanks to our loyal client base and, of course, the skills, commitment and dedication of our wonderful staff.”

With plans to grow its retained customer base to 250 and expand further into the North West and Yorkshire, the company is actively recruiting for two new roles to support its expanding operations.

Established in 2002, Carney provides Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental (QSHE) training and consultancy, primarily serving the construction and engineering sectors.

The company is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of construction professionals and plans to join the PlanBEE programme, an initiative designed to offer young people valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Angela, who is also the current president of the Northern Counties Builders Federation, added: “The industry is going from strength to strength and we are committed to playing a big part in its growth.

“We are passionate about bringing young people into construction, alongside adding to the number of former military personnel on the team and providing them with the training and support they need to succeed.

“In particular, we are keen to recruit people to train as health and safety professionals, filling a critical gap in the industry.

“Our unique approach to training, which mirrors the rigorous standards applied to engineers and quantity surveyors, will equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their careers and support the delivery of best-in-class service to our clients.”
