Consultancy expands with headquarters move
A training and consultancy firm has moved to larger headquarters.
Carney Consultancy has relocated to The Barracks Building at The Fish Quay, in North Shields, marking a “significant milestone” in its five-year strategy to expand operations across the North of England.
Bosses say the new base includes enhanced training facilities, enabling Carney to offer more courses in areas such as sustainability, environmental awareness and fire safety.
The move follows a period of rapid growth, with the company nearing 200 clients, boasting a 64 per cent increase in turnover and a 22 per cent rise in retained clients over the past two years.
Angela Carney, managing director, said: “This move represents a significant milestone for the business.
“We have experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and our new headquarters provides us with the space and resources we need to continue on this trajectory.
“We are excited about the opportunities this move presents, particularly in terms of expanding our training programmes and attracting new talent to the business.”
With plans to grow its retained customer base to 250 and expand further into the North West and Yorkshire, the company is actively recruiting for two new roles.
Established in 2002, Carney provides quality, safety, health and environmental training and consultancy, primarily serving the construction and engineering sectors.
It plans to join the PlanBEE programme, which offers young people hands-on experience in the construction industry.
Angela, who is also president of the Northern Counties Builders Federation, added: “The industry is going from strength-to-strength, and we are committed to playing a big part in its growth.
“We are passionate about bringing young people into construction, alongside adding to the number of former military personnel on the team and providing them with the training and support they need to succeed.
“In particular, we are keen to recruit people to train as health and safety professionals, filling a critical gap in the industry.”
