A North East software development company has been recognised for its exceptional growth and innovation, securing a prestigious accolade at a regional awards ceremony.
Newcastle-based Leighton, a leading AWS software development specialist that offers end-to-end software solutions and digital transformation, claimed the ‘Growth Explosion’ award at the 2024 Dynamites Awards, celebrating its remarkable achievements over the past three years.
James Bunting, chief executive officer at Leighton said: “We’re thrilled to have won our first-ever Dynamites Award for Growth Explosion.
“This win is a testament to the resilience, dedication, and talent of the entire Leighton team.
“Reflecting on the journey over the past few years - particularly the challenges we faced during the pandemic - I’m incredibly proud of how we’ve focused on what we do best, software engineering, and built on our strong culture to drive growth.”
In the last three years Leighton has more than doubled its revenue, expanded its workforce, and delivered cutting-edge software solutions for a diverse client base that includes British Airways, Atom Bank, IAG Loyalty and EQUANS.
The Dynamites Awards, held at Newcastle’s Civic Centre on November 21, spotlight the region’s tech industry, acknowledging outstanding contributions to innovation, job creation and business expansion.
James Holmes, a tech sector leader and member of the judging panel, added: “Leighton really stood out this year demonstrating significant and sustained annual revenue growth over the last three years.
“Their clear display of resilience and investment in great people who are doing great work across the tech industry made them a clear winner.”
In addition to this recent accolade, Leighton earned Great Place to Work recertification in 2024 and was named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Tech and one of the UK’s Best Places to Work in 2024, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.
