Spectacular live-action show marks milestone year
Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, the UK’s largest outdoor show, returns to Bishop Auckland in 2025 for its tenth season.
Performed on a sprawling seven-and-a-half-acre stage, with Aukland Palace offering a spectacular backdrop, the show combines pyrotechnics, stunts, and a 1,000-strong volunteer cast and crew to tell 2,000 years of England’s history through immersive storytelling and cinematic choreography.
Anna Warnecke, chief executive officer of Kynren, said: “Our 10th season is a remarkable milestone, reflecting years of dedication from our community of volunteers.
“The energy and enthusiasm of audiences keeps us motivated to deliver a show that is bigger and better every year.
“We’re proud to welcome guests from across the country and beyond to celebrate England’s history, myths, and legends in such a spectacular way.”
The 2025 season will include a special tribute to the 200th anniversary of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, featuring a replica of the iconic Locomotion No.1. Visitors can also enjoy the Viking Village pre-show experience, complete with interactive elements and an authentic recreation of a historic settlement.
Anna added: “Our very own Locomotion No.1 prop makes a memorable journey across the stage, and we’ll be sure to shine a spotlight on this too next year,”
Following record audiences in 2024, Kynren continues to attract visitors from across the UK and beyond, offering a dazzling 90-minute journey through battles, revolutions and legends, replete with impressive feats of horsemanship, fiery stunts and Kynren’s very own gaggle of geese!
Tickets for the 2025 season are now on sale.
