New Teesside clinic offers “painless pathway” to care
A medical clinic has launched with a pledge of making healthcare more accessible.
Consultants Choice Clinic has opened its doors in Stockton’s Surtees Business Park, creating ten jobs amid plans for further expansion.
Led by managing director Hailey Dobbs, who has worked within the private health sector for more than a decade, the clinic, which has seven consultation rooms and two minor surgery theatres for day cases, offers consultant-led services across specialties including dermatology, orthopaedics, gynaecology and cosmetic surgery.
Bosses say the clinic allows patients to self-refer, providing a faster, affordable and more “painless pathway” to care while helping ease NHS backlogs.
Hailey said: “The patient feedback has so far been nothing short of exceptional.
“Our aim at the Consultants Choice Clinic is to provide patients with an option and an extra treatment route.
“The NHS faces a mammoth task in cutting record waiting lists, and services like this can help alleviate some of that pressure by offering an alternative.
“We have created ten new jobs for the area, while we also have access to around 20 local consultants in the North East who between them have an incredible array of specialities offering help with everything from bad backs to general surgery.”
Hailey added: “Our patients have enjoyed how easy the process has been. They don’t have to wait for a GP referral to access our services, which speeds up their journey significantly.
“They can see a doctor face-to-face while those requiring daycare or inpatient treatment in a hospital can also have a say in which venue they’d like the procedure carried out in.
“Patients have loved having flexibility and choice in their treatment, not to mention the service is affordable and patients see results on the same day.
“The model has been such a success that we are already looking at growing the business further – as the demand is undoubtedly there.”
