£120 million Kingswood development approved
Plans for a £120 million Hull housing development have been approved, paving the way for 450 homes in the Kingswood community.
East Yorkshire-based Beal Homes has secured permission from Hull City Council for a 52-acre site west of Richmond Way.
The development includes full planning approval for the first 214 homes and outline plans for an additional 236 properties.
Beal Homes aims to offer a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Chris Murphy, land director at Beal Homes, said: “We’re pleased to have received planning consent to proceed with our latest major investment in Kingswood.
“We have worked very closely with the local authority and statutory bodies to develop and refine these plans, which will bring much-needed new homes to the area and offer wider benefits to the local community.
“Kingswood is a thriving and growing neighbourhood with continuing high demand for new homes, and this development is a response to that."
The project promises to “benefit the entire Kingsway community” by enhancing local flood resilience with embankment and drainage improvements, alongside creating a three-metre-wide riverside footpath and cycleway.
A managed country park with more than 800 trees, and financial support for 99 new primary school places are also part of the plans.
