Metro Rod & Metro Plumb name new COO

Stephen Chambers has been promoted to chief operating officer of the £70 million Metro Rod & Metro Plumb business, following an impressive 11-year career with the company.

A Macclesfield native and former Beech Hall and Macclesfield College student, Stephen, 32, began his journey in the company’s contact centre, gaining a deep understanding of its operations. His progression through various roles demonstrates the company’s commitment to nurturing and promoting internal talent.

Now, as chief operating officer, Stephen will oversee operations across the two brands, support franchisees, and work with teams at the Tytherington support centre to drive growth and maintain first-class customer service.

He said: “It’s been quite an eleven years and I’m grateful to everyone who has supported me during the progression of my career.

“We now have a team of over 100 people and a fantastic franchise network but there is still huge scope for development and growth given our proven track record.

“I’m really excited about this new opportunity and ready for the next stage in my career.”

He will report to Peter Molloy, group chief executive officer of Franchise Brands, Metro Rod’s parent company.

Peter added: “One of the ambitions of the Franchise Brands business is to train and develop our staff which enables us to promote from within.

“Stephen is one of many people in the organisation who have benefited from this approach.

“Stephen has demonstrated a deep understanding of the business and the needs of our franchise network and clients.

“His experience over the last 11 years across a range of roles will stand him in good stead as he takes on his new role and responsibilities.”
