Graham Crawley’s ‘The Returning Fishing Boat’

Stunning shot nets top prize

A captivating photograph has claimed the top spot in the Port of Blyth’s Annual Community Photography Competition, which celebrates the coastal and maritime beauty of the region.

Out of more than 400 entries, Graham Crawley’s ‘The Returning Fishing Boat’ was named the overall winner.

His striking image, balancing offshore energy and leisure vessels against dramatic blue tones, impressed judges with its representation of the port’s dynamic activities.

The photograph will feature prominently on the cover of the Port of Blyth’s 2025 Community Calendar.

As the top prize winner, Graham will receive £100 in Amazon vouchers, a bottle of champagne, and the honour of his image leading the calendar. Eleven other finalists will also have their images showcased and will each receive a bottle of champagne.

Martin Lawlor OBE, chief executive of the Port of Blyth, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s competition.

“The sheer variety and quality of the entries showcasing the Port and its surroundings have been truly inspiring.

Congratulations to Graham for his exceptional winning image – it’s a well-deserved recognition.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to see another record-breaking number of entries, and I can’t wait to see even more photographs in 2025!”

The competition for 2025 is now open, you can enter the competition via the Port of Blyth’s website.
