Architect firm expands offer with takeover
A Teesside-based architectural firm is set for further growth and job creation following its acquisition of a well-established local engineering company.
LJC Architectural Design has acquired structural engineering specialists Close, Granger, Gray & Wilkin (CGG&W), a respected practice with over 30 years of experience working on high-profile projects for clients such as Hugo Boss and the Ministry of Defence.
As part of the deal, CGG&W will relocate from its Guisborough base to LJC Architectural Design’s new office in Redcar. The acquisition allows LJC Architectural Design to expand its portfolio, now offering an “unmatched” skillset that includes structural and civil engineering, building surveying and property management services.
Rob Henderson, director and head of design at LJC Architectural Design, said: “We are incredibly excited to integrate such an established, trusted, and talented company into our team, and the potential for the business going forward is immense.
“Having worked tirelessly to grow LJC Architectural Design over the past year, this deal gives us the ability to offer a more complete and efficient service, which will really benefit our customers.
“The experience and skillset now on offer within the group is unmatched and I don’t think there is a street in Teesside that at least one of our team hasn’t worked on.”
The expanded firm anticipates a group turnover of £600,000 in its first year and plans to create up to four new jobs in the coming years to meet growing client demand.
With a track record spanning projects from Whitby’s West Pier Footbridge to Fendi’s New Bond Street store in Central London, the combined entity is poised to take on even more ambitious work.
