Stockton's Encora Energy makes two appointments
Stockton-on-Tees-based engineering consultancy Encora Energy has expanded its team with two significant hires to support its growing workload across the UK.
Experienced technical specialist Howard Bray joins with over 35 years of engineering expertise, including two decades at Rolls-Royce and a decade at Corus, where he played a pivotal role in a £100 million hot steel rolling mill project. At Encora, Howard will manage the ChipCob control system, helping clients optimise energy assets, while also mentoring junior team members.
Adam Ranson, with 20 years’ electrical engineering experience, joins as a site technician after five years at a Gateshead telecommunications equipment firm. He will focus on maintaining and managing power networks nationwide.
These appointments bolster Encora’s capabilities as it tackles a growing pipeline of projects, including work on gas peaking plants. Known as ‘peakers’, these facilities balance the grid by operating during periods of high electricity demand.
Encora Energy specialises in project development, engineering, consultancy and operations management for energy systems such as renewable and battery storage systems, CHP plants, and gas turbines. Currently, the firm manages operations for eight peaker sites with a combined capacity exceeding 50MW, offering end-to-end services from site identification to optimising operational value.
Andrew Normand, business development director at Encora Energy, said: “We’re thrilled to have hired two vastly experienced individuals who can help drive our future growth.
“Howard and Adam bring the right skillsets that we need as a business to service our current and future workload.”
