Lantern Building Consultancy welcomes graduate surveyor
Lantern Building Consultancy, one of the North East’s newest independent building surveyors, has appointed Ellen Clark as a graduate building surveyor following her recent graduation from Northumbria University.
Ellen, who aims to qualify as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) within three years, chose Lantern for its diverse range of projects, offering a strong foundation for her career development.
Her decision was inspired by her passion for property renovation and practical experience gained through professional placements during her studies.
She said: “Among the initial projects I am working on are dilapidations, reinstatement cost assessments, building inspections, and I’ll be introduced to project management and contract administration, all of which will help me gain the experience needed to develop my competencies and reach these goals.
“The main thing that attracted me to join Lantern was the quality of its graduate scheme, through which I’ll gain experience on all these projects.
“I feel the variation of work is the most important thing to consider when taking on a graduate role, as knowledge of all aspects of the profession will be essential in the early stages of my working life.
“The first impressions of my new role here at Lantern have been really positive. All my colleagues have been helpful and welcoming, and I feel this will be a great place for me to learn and excel as I begin my career.”
Alex Carter, director at Lantern Building Consultancy, which earlier this year opened a new office at Generator Studios in Newcastle to facilitate further growth, added: “It’s fantastic to welcome Ellen to the Lantern team and to see the firm grow with this appointment. We look forward to supporting Ellen as she shapes her knowledge and skills with us."
With 65 years of combined expertise, Lantern Building Consultancy provides comprehensive services to investors, landlords, tenants, consultants, and developers across the commercial property sector.
