Eddisons appoints new head of health and safety
Chartered property and building surveyors Eddisons have appointed Nick Foster as its new head of health and safety.
Based at the firm’s Leeds head office, Nick will oversee compliance and ensure best practice across all design and construction projects, with a focus on education-sector clients.
With over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, including 15 years specialising in health and safety, Nick has worked for major contractors and Leeds Beckett University.
Eddisons’ Building Consultancy division, led by regional managing partner Ian Harrington, advises schools and colleges across the UK on securing Government funding for building improvements. The team is currently managing over £40 million of projects for academy trusts this year.
Nick said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Eddisons and to be able to contribute to their reputation for excellence in building consultancy.
“Changes to the construction, design and management (CDM) regulations and building regulations are widening the scope and responsibility of health and safety in any design and construction project and Eddisons have shown that they are on the front foot in ensuring they are fully compliant and on board with this new focus.
“I am looking forward to helping the firm continue their proactive approach and to providing best-in-class support, and safe and compliant, innovative solutions for clients.”
Ian added: “We are really pleased to have Nick on board. As health and safety legislation continues to evolve and become ever more complex, his wealth of knowledge and proactive approach will be instrumental as we continue to grow our building consultancy services, particularly in the education sector.
“Nick’s appointment underlines Eddisons’ commitment to delivering the very best value and safety assurance for clients and is also central to driving forward the firm’s strategic growth trajectory.”
Employing around 500 people across more than 30 offices, Eddisons continues to expand following recent acquisitions, including SDL Property Auctions and Andrew Forbes Chartered Surveyors.
