GSSArchitecture celebrates promotions
Newcastle-based architectural practice GSSArchitecture is celebrating a wave of promotions within its team.
Leo Bourke and Shannon Walker have both been promoted to senior architects.
Leo, who joined GSS in 2022, has showcased his expertise in design development and technical production. He has led projects including James Barbour House and Kirklevington Hall Luxury Hotel and Spa. With recent principal designer buildings regulation training under his belt, Leo continues to excel in delivering innovative and compliant solutions.
Shannon has been with GSS since 2017 and is certified in Revit Architecture through the BIM academy. Her notable projects include the award-winning Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre for Teesside University and the Dame Margaret Barbour Building. As a wellbeing champion, Shannon promotes health and wellbeing internally while integrating these principles into building designs.
Simon Rennison-Rae, partner at GSSArchitecture, said: “It is wonderful to see these professional developments being made here in our Newcastle Studio.
“Both Shannon and Leo are accomplished architects who continue to impress through their hard work and innovation.
“Both have demonstrated excellent skill and professionalism on both complex and varied sectors of work, as well as being integral members to our growing team.
“We look forward to seeing what they will achieve in this new position and how their careers can continue to develop with GSSArcitecture.”
Beyond Newcastle, GSS has celebrated further success across its other offices. Seb Smart in Northamptonshire and Alistair Wilkinson in Milton Keynes have been promoted to associates, while in Yorkshire, Alex Proctor has been made partner, with Daniel Wallace and Heather Murgatroyd also stepping up as associates.
