Gentoo welcomes new director of people
Sunderland-based housing association Gentoo has appointed Samantha England as its new director of people, reinforcing its commitment to organisational culture and its Great Place to Work™ status.
Samantha, previously Gentoo’s head of HR, has been with the organisation for eight years.
She played a pivotal role in Gentoo’s recent cultural transformation, leading initiatives such as achieving the Great Place to Work™ certification, implementing the Workday HR and Finance system, and establishing new organisational values.
In her new role, Samantha will continue to shape Gentoo’s HR strategy and organisational development while supporting the delivery of the corporate strategy under Susan Fulton, executive director of customer, people and engagement.
Samantha said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new director of people at Gentoo.
“Over the past 18 months, we have made incredible strides in improving our workplace culture.
“I am excited to continue working alongside colleagues across the business to build on this progress, making Gentoo an even better place to work and delivering improved services for our customers.”
Susan added: “This promotion is a testament to the talent, leadership and drive Samantha has shown since starting at Gentoo.
“This appointment is another fantastic example that demonstrates our commitment to invest in and develop our people.
“I would like to congratulate Samantha on her appointment and wish her the best of luck in her new role as director of people.”
