EMN announces leadership transition

The Engineering & Manufacturing Network (EMN), a vital peer-to-peer support community for the North East’s engineering and manufacturing sectors, has announced a significant leadership transition.

David Land has stepped down as chair after nine years of dedicated service, during which he played a pivotal role in shaping EMN’s success.

He said: “As EMN Chair, for the last nine years, I’ve enjoyed guiding the network as it has developed year on year to be such a successful community with our two annual showcase events of EMConf and EMCON. 

“Although stepping down as chair, I plan to remain an active ambassadorial member of the network but know the community will continue to thrive with the guidance of Richard and Phil.”

Taking the reins is Richard Bradley, managing director of Dyer Engineering Limited, with Phil Astley, managing director of The Expanded Metal Company Limited, stepping into the role of vice chair. 

Both are long-standing board members and bring extensive industry experience, as well as a shared commitment to supporting the region’s engineering and manufacturing community. Their leadership will ensure continuity and further growth for EMN, fostering collaboration and delivering invaluable peer-to-peer support across the sector.

Richard added: I’m delighted to be appointed as the chair of EMN having been vice chair for nine years. 

“As a peer-to-peer community of like-minded engineers and manufacturers, I have gained invaluable support from other members of the EMN Network and I’m looking forward to that continuing as we move to a new phase in the development of the network.”
