Leeds Bradford Airport hails 'really exciting year'
A travel hub says it is primed for a "really exciting" 12 months after a "remarkable year" of demand.
Leeds Bradford Airport saw passenger numbers rise 5.8 per cent in 2024.
Bosses say more than 4.24 million people flew across nearly 32,000 flights, which was 6.2 per cent higher than the previous year.
Alicante topped the list of passenger destinations, followed by Dublin and Palma De Mallorca.
And officials say the airport's progress will be boosted further by the first phase of a £100 million terminal expansion, which is set to add new lounges, retail space, larger baggage areas and enhanced security ahead of the summer holiday period.
Tom Holdsworth, the airport's aviation development manager, said: “It’s been a remarkable year, and it’s great to see numbers of passengers and flights continue to increase at a good level.
“Our existing partners, including Easyjet, Jet2, KLM, Ryanair and Wizz Air have continuously increased the number of flights and destination offerings for customers travelling throughout the year, plus we’ve welcomed SunExpress as a new airline partner.
“2025 is a really exciting year as the terminal regeneration really comes to life, and we’ll see customers enjoy a new travel experience in the summer.”
