Rezon achieves record sales growth
A County Durham-based sports safety company is seeing rapid growth after a record-breaking year, with soaring sales and global expansion for its “groundbreaking” protective headband.
Rezon, headquartered in Stanley, has achieved a 400 per cent year-on-year increase in sales of its Rezon Halos headband, now used across 18 sports and sold in 14 countries.
The legally CE-marked headband is designed to reduce rotational forces to the brain by up to 61 per cent, addressing the long-term risks of sub-concussive impacts and helping “empower” athletes to “pursue their passions without compromising their futures”.
Founded in 2021 by Judith McMinn, Rezon has gained industry recognition, winning multiple innovation awards, including the 2024 Spectator Economic Innovator of the Year Award for the North East.
Judith said: “Our growth is a testament to our drive for innovation in brain protection and player performance and our commitment to educating the sports world on the importance of brain safety and its direct linkage to player performance in sport and life.
“Being recognised for our groundbreaking Rezon Halos is incredibly rewarding.
“This recognition has provided us with a springboard for growth after a successful 2024, and we remain dedicated to advancing brain health innovation that prioritises protection and provides new insight about brain performance.”
“Rezon Halos is not just an accessory, but a proven protective headband designed to mitigate the risks of brain injury in sport.
“By equipping athletes with the right knowledge and innovative protection like the Halos, we aim to empower them to pursue their passions without compromising their futures.”
The company is now collaborating with US-based cognitive health company Cogwear to develop Halos - Edge, a revolutionary new headband with built-in EEG technology for real-time brain injury detection, set to launch in late 2025.
