Entries open to recognise construction talent
The North East’s construction industry is gearing up to celebrate its brightest talent as entries open for two prestigious awards ceremonies taking place this spring.
Constructing Excellence North East (CENE) is inviting nominations for its flagship awards alongside the Generation for Change (G4C) Awards, which recognise rising stars in the sector.
The G4C Awards, with Caddick Construction as headline sponsor, will take place at the Newcastle-Gateshead Hilton Hotel on May 2, while the CENE Awards, backed by CDM Recruitment as its headline sponsor, will be held at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park on June 13.
Categories span from innovation and sustainability to outstanding projects and individual achievements. The G4C Awards celebrate emerging professionals, while the CENE Awards spotlight excellence across SMEs, infrastructure and collaborative working.
Winners from both events will have the chance to compete at the National Constructing Excellence Awards later in the year.
Last year’s regional success saw Teesside University take home national honours and organisers are keen to see more North East businesses shine on the bigger stage.
Catriona Lingwood, chief executive of Constructing Excellence North East, said: “I can think of no better way to begin the New Year than with the announcement that our prestigious awards are open for entries.
“A true celebration of the outstanding achievements of North East built environment professionals, the awards shine a spotlight on those within the industry driving innovation and are best-in-class.
“From apprentices to SMEs that are long-established, we come together to celebrate our strength and diversity.
“The results from the national finals, in November, highlight how successfully the North East is performing and the opportunity within the industry for real career progression and business success.”
Entries close on February 28 for G4C and March 7 for CENE, with the region’s top talent set to be recognised for their contributions to shaping the built environment.
