Tulway opens 'gateway to growth' with new factory
A mechanical engineering group has created 50 jobs with a new factory.
Tulway has opened a 70,000sq ft site in Middlesbrough.
Bosses say it will “strengthen” the company’s position as a provider of specialised fabrication and installation services, particularly in the fields of high-integrity pipework, steelwork and mechanical equipment.
Kevin Tully, managing director, said: "This new facility is more than just an expansion - it’s a gateway to new opportunities.
“By broadening our capacity, we're now able to enter new markets, including the renewable energy, CCUS, sustainable aviation fuel and nuclear sectors, while continuing to support our long-standing clients.
“Our investment demonstrates our confidence in the industry, our commitment to our clients and our dedication to driving innovation and sustainability in engineering.”
He added the plant has been designed to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption.
The company’s partnership with Incon NDT, which will bring non-destructive testing in-house, is also expected to streamline operations and reduce carbon emissions by 20 tonnes annually.
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen, who opened Tulway’s new factory added: “This is a fantastic step forward for Tulway and a huge win for Teesside’s growing reputation as the UK’s centre for high-quality manufacturing and engineering.
“In securing this work, Tulway is expanding its operation and creating 50 jobs for local people.
“I look forward to seeing their continued success in the years to come.”
