Forum gathers to ‘make Newcastle greener’
Newcastle is set to bring businesses, residents and organisations together to discuss tackling climate change at its second Climate Change Forum.
Following a successful first event in 2024, Newcastle City Council has arranged a second forum on February 20 at the Newcastle Civic Centre, focusing on green infrastructure and biodiversity.
The event will feature speakers from the North East Community Forest Partnership and the Blue Green City project, as well as council representatives.
Feedback from last year’s attendees has been incorporated into the planning, with the council aiming to ensure the quarterly event reflects community priorities.
Councillor Juna Sathian, Newcastle City Council cabinet member for climate and transport, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the last Climate Change Forum in October, and I am excited to announce that Newcastle’s Climate Change Forum will be returning for a second time in February.
“This forum is themed on nature, biodiversity and adaptivity, a key focus in my portfolio and for the council.
“We are excited to invite residents from across the city, representing our local businesses, organisations and communities.
“This will be an opportunity to learn and have your say on key projects occurring throughout the city to make Newcastle greener together.”
Free tickets and further details are available via Eventbrite.
