Charity golf day tees up for big return
A Northumberland charity golf event is set to make its return this summer, with a new headline sponsor and an ambitious fundraising target.
The Percy Hedley Foundation’s Charity Golf Day, now backed by national recruitment agency Pin Point Recruitment, will take place on July 1 on the Lee Westwood Filly Course at Close House.
Last year’s event raised nearly £11,000, with organisers aiming to surpass £15,000 this time.
John Preston, chief executive of The Percy Hedley Foundation, a Newcastle-based disability charity that supports people with complex learning difficulties, said: “2025’s Golf Day is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet, and we couldn’t be more excited to have Pin Point Recruitment as our headline sponsor.
“Their incredible support will play a key role in making this event truly unforgettable, all while helping us raise vital funds for the Foundation.”
Marc Findlay, branch manager at Pin Point Recruitment, added: “We’re proud to be the new headline sponsors of The Percy Hedley Foundation’s Charity Golf Day.
“The Golf Day is a great opportunity to enjoy some healthy competition in a beautiful setting, all while supporting an important North East disability charity.
“I have seen first-hand what incredible work the foundation does and to have the opportunity to help give something back is a real honour.
“Some of the prizes up for grabs this year aren’t to be missed!”
Participants will enjoy a shotgun start, a breakfast roll and a two-course clubhouse meal, with fundraising challenges and prizes throughout the day.
With over half the team slots already filled, early booking is encouraged. See here for more information.
