Dean Clough celebrates surge in lettings
A landmark Halifax business park has recorded a “hugely positive year” of lettings.
Dean Clough, the 22-acre site on the edge of Halifax town centre, secured deals for more than 112,000sq ft of office space in the past year, with an additional 22,000sq ft under offer, representing more than 20 per cent of the entire 600,000sq ft estate.
Notable new occupiers include Activate Group, Aggregate Industries, The Creative Core, Ramsdens Solicitors and global operator Seven Glocon.
Calderdale College has also established a 12,834sq ft digital creative skills hub specialising in games design, esports, film and media, as it prepares to double its student intake this year.
Jeremy Hall, chair and managing director at Dean Clough Ltd, said: “We are thrilled to report a hugely positive year.
“With our commercial property agents reporting a healthy pattern of growth in market deals, and many employers now advocating a full return to the workplace policy, we are certainly seeing the effects of this.”
The site, which blends 16 historic Victorian mills - once home to the largest carpet manufacturing business in the world - with modern office and leisure spaces, continues to attract businesses and cultural organisations, including TV production teams and art initiatives.
In total, more than 150 businesses are now on the site, employing in excess of 3500 people.
Recent openings include wellness and hospitality venues, including Revive Wellness, Lucy’s Little Bake House and Hubb Coffee Bars.
Jeremy added: “These wonderful buildings provide highly sustainable characterful, energy efficient space solutions.
“There is also a vibrant and diverse community, which, together with its creative cultural offer, makes for a unique proposition.”
