Ideal Heating strikes gold for staff wellbeing
A Hull-based manufacturing company has been recognised for its commitment to employee wellbeing with a national award.
Ideal Heating won the ‘Manufacturing Matters’ prize at the Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2025 in London, which celebrates businesses making a positive societal impact through their practices or products.
Judges praised Ideal’s extensive investment in staff welfare, including a £1.9 million “Physical Spaces” upgrade to its Hull headquarters on National Avenue, saying it was “one of the most impressive examples they had come across”.
The judges also noted that Ideal “exemplifies responsible business, supporting staff through services like counselling, enhanced pension provisions and wellbeing initiatives.”
Ideal Heating, which employs around 1,000 people, has introduced health checks, mental health first aiders and financial wellbeing support in an effort to “create the best environment” and a “safe and supportive workplace”.
The accolade follows the company’s regional win at the Make UK North East, Yorkshire and Humberside Manufacturing Awards last October.
Miriam Moore, Ideal Heating HR manager, added: “We’re honoured to have been recognised in the Make UK Manufacturing Awards, both in the Yorkshire region and now nationally.
“We’ve put an enormous amount of effort into creating a safe and supportive workplace for our team.
“Employee wellbeing is incredibly important to us and we believe that investing in this creates the best environment to enable our people to develop their skills and thrive.”
