Teesworks commercial park blueprint approved

A regeneration body has received approval for an office and commercial space development.

Teesworks Ltd has secured planning permission for more than 40 commercial units on ex-steelworks land at South Bank, near Middlesbrough.

Bosses say building work will start “as soon as possible”.

They add the 100,000sq ft-plus endeavour will “drive further investment and job creation”, and enable local small businesses to service large occupiers on the Teesworks site, such as SeAH Wind and bp.

Chris Musgrave, Teesworks Ltd chair, said: “While the likes of SeAH Wind and bp are headline-grabbing occupiers, it has always been our intention that their presence will feed into the local economy.

“That’s why we have set aside this part of the development, so local small businesses can start up or set up new offices.

“We know how important small businesses are to building the bedrock of the local economy.

“We’ll be getting on site as soon as we can.”
