Insulcon Technical invests in apprentices
North Tyneside-based insulation specialist Insulcon Technical has welcomed three new apprentices to support its global expansion.
Sammy Farman, Ryan McGee and Joe Masters have joined the firm to train in engineering design, focusing on the company’s award-winning insulation systems for the offshore industry.
Sammy said: “The idea of accumulating lots of debt by going to university didn’t appeal and I’m so happy to be starting my apprenticeship instead at Insulcon Technical.
“The design engineer apprenticeship allows me to gain real-world experience and skills, as well as continuing my education and working towards an industry recognised qualification.”
Ryan added: “My career dream is to become a fully qualified CAD engineer and this apprenticeship with Insulcon Technical offers the ideal route to get me there.
“Everyone has been extremely welcoming and friendly and I’m really looking forward to contributing towards the company’s success, as well as getting involved in the design of world-leading products.”
Joe added: “Working at Insulcon Technical has given me fantastic experience of some of the company’s largest projects.
“Now I’m keen to formalise this experience by adding an apprenticeship qualification. I’m really excited to start.”
The apprentices will undertake a three-and-a-half-year training programme, developing high-level computer design skills.
This marks Insulcon Technical’s first intake of apprentices as it expands into international markets, including America, Asia, Africa and Australia.
The company, founded in 2006, operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in North Shields and distributes its technical insulation systems to more than 30 countries.
With industry-leading innovations such as the world’s thinnest fire protection insulation jacket, the firm continues to strengthen its workforce to meet growing global demand.
Chris Evans, managing director at Insulcon Technical, added: “We are delighted to welcome Joe, Sammy and Ryan as our new apprentices at Insulcon Technical.
“Investing in high-quality, structured apprenticeships will help us to develop the skills of Joe, Sammy and Ryan and will also support our broader business strategy for growth.
“We have ambitious plans for the company and these include increasing capacity across the business.
“By nurturing young talent and providing training in our unique software and product range, we are building a strong pipeline of skilled professionals to help drive our expansion.”
