Deadgood set for growth with CCIP backing
A North East furniture company is set for growth after receiving funding to expand its range, integrate AI and create jobs.
Newcastle-headquartered Deadgood, founded in 2004 by Dan Ziglam and Elliot Brook and known for its commitment to sustainable design, has secured a loan investment through the Creative UK’s Culture and Creative Investment Programme (CCIP), delivered in partnership with the North East Combined Authority.
Bosses say the cash will support product launches at trade shows, enhance 3D modelling for customers and help scale operations to meet growing demand.
They add the funds will help drive product innovation and “push boundaries” by leveraging AI technology to customise unique rug design, helping Deadgood stand out in the competitive interiors market.
Elliot Brook, founder and director at Deadgood, which lists Google, PwC, Adobe and the BBC among clients, said: “Our vision is to continue building an internationally recognised design brand, known for championing bold British creativity and rooted in collaboration and purpose.
“We are delighted Creative UK is on board for the next stage of our evolution as we continue challenging the perception of what a commercial furniture brand should look like, all the while developing simple products for modern interiors.”
Carol Bell, regional associate director, North at Creative UK, added: “It’s inspiring to support Deadgood, a company that has operated in the region for a number of years.
“This next phase of their development is particularly exciting, as they explore the adoption of AI integration in their work.”
