Envirovue taps into major water contract
A Lancashire-based waste specialist has been appointed to support waste management across more than 400 sites for one of the UK’s largest water utility companies.
Envirovue will work with Southern Water, which serves over 4.7 million wastewater customers across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, as well as managing waste streams at 365 wastewater treatment works and 89 water treatment sites.
The company was selected as part of the £550 million framework due to its expertise in hazardous waste management, innovative technology and its sustainability-first approach, with bosses saying they will help Southern Water “lead the way in environmental performance”.
Dan Redfern, director at Envirovue, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Southern Water to drive cost effective, sustainable waste practices across the region.
“Our team has worked extensively for two years to secure this contract and we’re delighted to be the supplier of choice.
“Through a combination of advanced data insights, waste restructuring and route optimisation, we’re expecting to see Southern Water lead the way in environmental performance."
Mike Chapman, head of contractor service delivery at Southern Water, added: “We are delighted to have appointed Envirovue as our specialist waste partner.
“This strategic framework agreement will play a vital role in supporting our business and operational demands and achieve enhanced resilience throughout the next Asset Management Period.”
