Xenia Lettings expands with Sunderland office
A lettings agency has opened its first North East office.
Xenia Lettings has launched a Sunderland branch on North Bridge Street - the company’s first outside the North West - as part of a wider UK expansion plan.
The agency, which supports residential and student lettings, says it is confident of making “a real difference” by “building strong relationships” with local landlords and “providing expert guidance and services”.
Led by branch manager Antonia Askew, who has 18 years' experience, the office opens amid strong rental market growth.
Sunderland’s average house price rose 2.3 per cent to £150,000 over the past year, while average monthly rents climbed 8.9 per cent to £650.
Sales activity has also increased, with nearly 2,600 properties sold subject to contract in late 2024, marking a 12.8 per cent rise year-on-year.
Antonia said: “I’m thrilled with the success of our office opening and truly grateful for the fantastic support we've received.
“There has never been a more crucial time for landlords to partner with a lettings agent, with Sunderland's rental market thriving and new legislation on the horizon, so I am really looking forward to helping landlords navigate the evolving challenges, providing an extensive management service and building strong relationships on a personable level.”
Daryl Tomlinson, director of Xenia Lettings, added: “The opening event was fantastic, and it was great to see the enthusiasm of the local team.
“Antonia is the perfect choice to lead Xenia Lettings into this exciting new chapter.”
