Rugby legend helps MSP Capital tackle growth

A Dorset-based property finance firm is sharpening its strategy with the help of an England rugby great turned business consultant.

MSP Capital has enlisted Rory Underwood MBE DL, who remains England’s record try scorer as well as a former RAF fighter pilot, to enhance its performance over the next five years.

Through his consultancy, Wingman Ltd, Rory is applying lessons from elite sport, military training and business leadership to help refine the company’s growth plans.

Since December, Rory has led a series of workshops with senior leaders and employees, helping shape a vision for expansion. 

The result has been a clear goal – to grow MSP Capital’s loan book to £750 million by 2030.

Rory, a former pupil of Barnard Castle School, who went on to represent England 85 times, scoring 49 tries, said:  It has been a real privilege working with the team at MSP Capital. 

“Whilst delivering the Wingman LIFT programme, the team showed great enthusiasm and engagement with each member contributing to the development of the strategy for the next five years.
