Access Industry appoints new managing director

National apprenticeships provider Access Industry has named Gary Judge as its new managing director.

Gary, who has nearly 20 years of experience at Access Sport, will lead the company’s existing sports and creative apprenticeships curriculum while driving a wider growth strategy.

He played a key role in building Access Sport into one of the UK’s leading sports education providers, growing its student base from 600 to 1,400 across multiple campuses.

Gaey said: “I’m hugely excited by the potential of this team and business in general.

“Apprenticeships and work-based training is where I started my journey as an educator, so it feels like a natural step for me to come back to this.

“Although my most recent experience has been within study programmes and general further education, I’ve always ensured that our programmes are supported and informed by employers.

“We’ve got a highly skilled and energetic team here and one that we are looking to expand with more expertise and experience, to provide the best service we can to our apprentices and our employers.”

Joining him is Tom Bates as head of apprenticeships (North), bringing a decade of experience in the sector, as well as Katie Bambridge as head of apprenticeships (South), who has built strong employer partnerships with Disney, Festival Republic and the Royal Opera House.

The leadership team will focus on expanding Access Industry’s employer network and growing its latest apprenticeship pathway in Screen Lighting, launched in 2024 to meet the demands of the UK’s thriving TV and film industry.
