Durata appoints new commercial director
Middlesbrough-based modular data centre and critical power specialist Durata has appointed Ashaan Ayoub as commercial director to support its expansion plans.
Ashaan brings a decade of experience in civil engineering and construction, with expertise in cost management and project delivery for major clients such as Northumbrian Water and Leeds City Council.
He will oversee all commercial aspects of Durata’s projects, from pre-tender stages to final account settlements.
Ashaan said: “I'm thrilled to be joining Durata at such an exciting time.
“The company's vision for the future, particularly in the modular building sector, aligns perfectly with my own ambitions.
“I'm eager to leverage my experience and build a strong team in his department to ensure Durata capitalises on the immense opportunities ahead, especially with the growing demand for data centres and critical power infrastructure driven by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).”
Ashaan’s appointment is part of Durata’s ambitious growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to investing in local talent.
Other recent hires include Mitch Brady as mechanical project manager, Claire Allport as compliance assistant and Alison Robson as head of finance.
John McGee, Durata’s managing director, added: “Ashaan’s reputation preceded him. He is well known and was respected in the positions he has had across the construction and engineering industries.
“Having him here reinforces our vision, strengthening the foundations of our company to give our customers greater peace of mind.
“Ashaan's expertise in cost management and his understanding of the complexities of major construction projects will be invaluable as we navigate our ambitious growth trajectory.
“We have always seen growth from day one and evolved, but this year is pivotal to a huge growth spurt in business contracts and people and staff numbers.
“With the contracts we are getting, we are appointing the people to back those up.”
