Candle maker looks to grow as demand heats up
A candle maker has unveiled growth plans after enjoying its strongest year.
Skär Organics is looking to double the size of its base and increase operations.
The blueprint comes after the Leeds business recorded a 100 per cent year-on-year increase in candle production and saw international trade rise significantly.
The latter was fanned by demand from the US, with American customers now accounting for a third of Meanwood-headquartered Skär Organics’ customer base.
Fraser Malyk, Skär Organics’ Batley-born founder, said the business has made great strides.
He added: “We’re delighted with how far we’ve come over the past year.
“Expanding into new markets in America has been a true highlight, and proof of the passion and care we put into each and every candle.
“Every candle is essentially 'invented' – there is no off-the-shelf style or formula for our organic formulations.
“It’s all about mastery, skill and a little frustration.
“As pioneers in this field, we were navigating uncharted territory from the start.
“As we move forward, we’re committed to keeping our momentum going and looking ahead to what promises to be an even more exciting year.”
