Redmoor Academy’s expansion gathers pace
An expansion at a Leicestershire academy has reached a key milestone with the completion of a steel frame structure.
Midlands contractor G F Tomlinson is delivering new educational and sports facilities at Redmoor Academy in Hinckley, funded by Leicestershire County Council.
The development includes a 696sq metre sports hall designed for a range of indoor sports, alongside changing rooms, classrooms, a reception area, offices and a fitness room.
Adrian Grocock, G F Tomlinson group managing director, said: “The team are making great progress at Redmoor Academy, and we are pleased to be delivering enhanced educational facilities for current and future pupils at the school.
“The new dedicated spaces will allow the academy to expand and improve its current curriculum, catering to the growing pupil capacity of Redmoor for the coming years.”
Matt Nicolle, Redmoor Academy principal, added: “As the school has grown, our infrastructure has struggled to keep pace with sports facilities being the worst affected.
“This fantastic new sports facility will not only inspire our students to greater achievements but also provide the local community with better facilities.”
